Most anaesthetic accounts are payable preoperatively via MediTrust. Some accounts will be sent via MediTrust postoperatively.
A secure link will be sent by either email or SMS for prepayment.
Payments can be received by by Online Credit Card, BPAY or EFT.
You will receive an account for my services that is separate to the account you will receive from your
surgeon, assistant surgeon and the hospital.
Medicare and your Private Health Fund will pay part of your anaesthetic fee.
If your health fund participates in the "Known Gap" system You will have to pay the difference (your out of pocket expense or co-payment) which will range from $100 to $500 depending on the length and complexity of anaesthesia.
If your fund does not participate in the Known Gap system you will need to pay up front the total anaesthetic fee and then claim the rebate from Medicare and your health fund. Dr Poon's secretary can help facilitate this.
Uninsured patients will need to pay the anaesthetic fee upfront and then claim the rebate from Medicare. Dr Poon's secretary can help facilitate this if you contact her by email : care@dranthonypoon.au or phone 93573590
For Veteran's Affairs, Transport Accident Commission and Work Cover patients there will be no out of pocket expense.
